Poultry Show Central News, Septembert Issue #26
September 06, 2014

Show season is so close I can almost taste it! This fall is abuzz with lots of brand new poultry shows and also some that are shaping up to be huge! I am so encouraged to see the new energy that is required to start up a new show, because it is proof that the poultry fancy is growing and thriving.

I get emails and messages nearly daily from someone who wants to start showing chickens and needs some help getting started. Please support those just getting started, especially the Juniors since they are the future of the hobby.

If you are interested in supporting a new show, one I would consider is the Lebanon Valley Poultry Fancier's show in Lebanon, PA. This show has everything, including more than $2000 in Awards and Specials, lots of meets and just all around unique energy and ideas (like live music, free donuts and coffee, egg and arts/craft show, a junior Skillathon test, and even chicken poop bingo!) The show is October 11 so get your entries in soon.

The exciting Master's Cup is also coming up this November in Iowa. This is one show that is trying a whole new take on poultry showing. It's bound to be a show to remember!

The APA and ABA National shows in Columbus, Ohio and Knoxville, Tennessee are ones definitely to plan to attend, but you better get your hotel reserved for Columbus especially or you'll have trouble getting a room! Don't forget you can be directed right to the area hotels through the links on the show pages of the website. You can help keep our website going while saving yourself some money at the same time. Thanks in advance!
